Kruger National Park - South Africa

-Day 1: Discover Soweto, Johannesburg or Pretoria

Johannesburg and Soweto township tours: Arrive at OR Tambo/Johannesburg International Airport and stay at the 4 star Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport.
You get the opportunity to do a tour to Soweto/Johannesburg or Pretoria. This tour departs from your hotel at 10am.

Soweto/Johannesburg Tour: This tour takes you into the most famous sprawling township in Africa, home of about 2 million people. Full of surprise and contrast, Soweto is a township located on the South-Western side of Johannesburg. It is home to sites of historical importance; as many of the struggles were fought against the injustices of the apartheid. We visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, and then the Mandela House Museum amongst other attractions.

Pretoria Tour: Pretoria was named after one of the "Voortrekker" leaders Andries Pretorius and is the administrative capital, South Africa. The many historic buildings, museums and monuments make this a historical ‘heimat’ of South Africa. It is also called the "Jacaranda City" due to the abundance of Jacaranda trees flowering into a sea of purple. Visit the Voortrekker Monument and Union Buildings.

-Day 2: Fly to Victoria Falls

Fly out of Johannesburg, leaving South African borders for a few days to visit Zimbabwe. On arrival in Victoria Falls you will be transferred from Victoria Falls to the 4 star Shongwe Lookout Guest Lodge where you stay for 2 nights.

-Day 3: Enjoy a safari, experience “The Smoke that Thunders” and cruise Zambezi River

After a good night's rest an early morning start at 5:15 is what's needed to get ready for an action-filled day. Be enchanted on a true 3.5-hour African safari. Only 15 minutes from Victoria Falls is the Zambezi National Park, a 57,000-hectare unfenced national park, home to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and several species of plains game including kudu, impala, and bushbuck. The Zambezi River marks its northern border, beyond which lies Zambia. Your morning experience includes a light breakfast and drinks. Please request a breakfast pack at your guest lodge already on the previous evening. Transfers are included to and from any Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) accommodation.

After the exhilarating safari game drive, you do a tour of Victoria Falls for 2.5 hours from 11am, which is one of the most compelling sites in the world. This cascading column of sheer energy powers its way down a 100-meter chasm, taking your breath away as you gaze in awe, mesmerized by its strength and incredible beauty. As you captivate this famous wonder, you will be completely enthralled to see and feel “The Smoke that Thunders.” The tour guides will ensure that the best photographic opportunities are indicated while mesmerizing you with historical and current information, as well as details on the flora, fauna, birds, wildlife, and other related issues on this World Heritage Site. Raincoats are provided when needed. There is a café in the rainforest and you can take time out to have something to drink or eat before or after walking out of the rainforest.

You end the day with a standard sunset river cruise of 2.5 hours from 4pm. Enjoy the magnificent views of the Zambezi River. Experience this river-based game and sunset cruise on this mighty African river. There is a chance to spot many different types of animals in the water and along the banks. You will have unlimited local drinks and some tasty snacks as you watch the sunset in one of the most beautiful scenes in Africa. Transfers are included to and from any Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) accommodation.

-Day 4: Fly to Johannesburg

Enjoy a free morning, then say farewell to Zimbabwe and fly to Johannesburg. Once landed, you make your way to your hotel to overnight at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport.

-Day 5: Head to the spectacular Panorama Route

Start the journey through the most scenic areas of the eastern part of South Africa. Have lunch at a local restaurant, drive to view Pinnacle Rock and then experience the amazing view from God’s Window (Wonder View). You then visit the Berlin Falls, where numerous local arts and crafts are for sale. From here you visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes and then head to Blyde River Canyon, where you overnight in a 4 star chalet at the resort: Forever Blyde Canyon.

-Day 6: Get up close with the wildlife of Africa

You leave after breakfast and head to the Kruger National Park, where you board an open safari vehicle for a game drive for approximately six hours. Kruger National Park was proclaimed in 1898 and later extended to its present size of approximately 19,000 square kilometers or 8,000 square miles. With nearly two million hectares of unrivaled diversity of life forms fused with historical and archaeological sites, this is real Africa. You will be accompanied by one of the skilled guides, who will take you through the reserve, pointing out animal behavior, interesting facts, and cultures. Upon return, you go to the overnight accommodation: 4 star Perry’s Bridge Hollow Boutique Hotel.

-Day 7: Early bird catches the first worm

Starting the game drive in a vehicle after breakfast, you explore every possible opportunity to view the spectacular wildlife scenery for approximately eight hours. You take the best scenic routes and drive to the south of Kruger Park to get more opportunities to see the big five. Chances are excellent to spot a variety of animals, including lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, spotted hyena, elephant, Burchell's zebra, hippopotamus, warthog, giraffe, buffalo, eland, roan antelope, sable antelope, and greater kudu. You overnight at the 4 star Pestana Kruger Lodge (or similar).

-Day 8: Relax, safari Kruger Park, or explore Eswatini
You have the opportunity to do activities to your preference; the guests who do not choose any optional activity may relax at the hotel or join the bus for shopping at the town of Malelane.

Kruger Park Safari: Another day safari through world-renowned Kruger National Park. Join a skilled guide on a quest to find Africa's 'Big Five' and other wildlife in one of the continent's largest game reserves. Since animals are most active in the mornings and evenings, you'll have a better chance of spotting leopards, hyena, lions and more. Learn about the area's flora and fauna as you go, including distinct behavior patterns of everything from hippos to elephants.
Eswatini (Swaziland): You have the opportunity to do activities to your preference; the guests who do not choose any optional activity may relax at the hotel or join the bus for shopping at the town of Malelane.
A tour to the mountain kingdom of Eswatini, one of the longest standing dynasties in Africa. Ruled since 1986 by their current King, Mswati III, who is also famous for having 16 wives! The country consists of lush & fertile valleys and magnificent mountain scenery. See a show of glass blowing at Ngwenya Glass factory which evolved as a community project that recycles used glass, King Sobuza Memorial Park, the Mantenga cultural village and Mantenga falls. On the whole, the tour is filled in by a continuous narrative by your professional guide touching on aspects of African culture and traditions which are still alive in the country through the country’s monarchical democratic system as they prefer to call it.

-Day 9: Fly to Cape Town
%A scrumptious breakfast follows a short drive to the KMI Airport, where you will board the flight to Cape Town. Overnight at the 4 star Portswood Hotel, close to the waterfront.

-Day 10: Explore the island

Meet your Guide at your hotel and walk to the Nelson Mandela Gateway, V&A Waterfront, from 7:30 a.m. to board for Robben Island. This must-see safari excursion takes about four hours and includes a ferry trip to the island, where you will be guided to see all the historical sites. You will not only experience the historical part, but also the native fauna on Robben Island consisting mainly of aquatic animals, such as seals, sea birds and penguins. This is followed by a city tour, including famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall, the Grand Parade, Company Gardens, and the Malay Quarters. Stroll through the adjacent V&A Waterfront, with its endless shopping and dining opportunities, before returning to your hotel. Overnight at the Portswood Hotel, close to the waterfront.

-Day 11: Table Mountain and Wine

You leave your hotel for Cape Town's most famous icon, Table Mountain, by the Aerial Cableway to take in the natural beauty and stunning views. Driving around the mountain which is part of the Table Mountain National Park, you may see some mammals living here like eland, baboon, Klipspringer and many more on the safari. A walking tour through Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in the UNESCO-listed Cape Floral Kingdom follows. Visit Groot Constantia to taste their export-quality wines and take a museum and cellar tour. Choose one of the popular restaurants in the area for dinner. You overnight at the 4 star Simon's Town Quayside Hotel.

-Day 12: Cape of Good Hope

From here, you go to Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town, home to one of the few land-based penguin colonies in the world. Do a penguin safari through the area where they are protected. Visit Cape Point, part of the Table Mountain National Park and home to an abundance of flora and fauna. Do a safari drive through the nature reserve where chances are possible to spot the Cape mountain zebra and the world’s largest antelope, the eland, among a variety of other fauna. Ascend the viewpoint with the Flying Dutchman Funicular and visit the Cape of Good Hope. By the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at your preferred hotel or Cape Town International Airport.
